Biometrics is generally defined as the
study of methods for uniquely recognizing humans based upon one or more
intrinsic physical or behavioral traits.
Common human biometric characteristics can be divided into two main
classes: physiological (face recognition, fingerprint, hand geometry, iris
recognition, DNA) and behavioral (signature, keystroke dynamics, voice). New strategies being developed are based on
gait (walking), hand veins, ear recognition, facial thermogram,
